A place for me to compile random photos I take around Manhattan of our historic buildings, sites and scenes.
I really wish NYU would restore the balustrades that topped those buildings on the north side of the square. I seem to remember that the last one was taken down about 1910 -- ostensibly to permit easier snow removal. But technology can handle that today, and the buildings would look much better in something more like their original exterior form.(Perhaps the powers that be might negotiate this in exchange for allowing something that NYU wants to do elsewhere.)
